AV Services

EQUIPMENT RENTAL INFO: Animation Dep General Policy 

​

GENERAL EQUIPMENT

The default rental period is 48 hours*

 

*Exceptions include observations of Tech Desk Operating Hours. Late fees will be excused for general equipment that is checked out for more than a 48 hour period if the checkout period ends beyond Tech Desk Operating Hours. Equipment checkouts will be due, by default, at 8:30am the following business day.

 

EXTENDED CHECKOUT FOR GENERAL EQUIPMENT:

 

Students may request an extension for any general animation department equipment up to an additional 7 days WITH an “Extension Request Form”. Paper versions of this form can be picked up from both the Tech Desk, AV Services in the Art Tech Center and the Animation Department’s Main Office, located on the 2nd floor in the Brown Center. 


This form should be signed by either Adam Davies, Studio Manager or any other FT Animation Faculty (Steve Meneely, Laurence Arcadias, Isma Sanz-Pena, Andrew Keiper, Erinn Hagerty, Stephanie Williams). The extension will then be verified by the AV Services Manager.

EQUIPMENT RENTAL INFO: Camera Related Policy

Canon T3i, Canon 60D, 70D, 80D, 90D cameras, tripods, lighting kits, lenses, lens accessories, cord packets

 

The default rental period is 48 hours*

Late fees will be excused for camera related equipment that is checked out for more than a 48 hour period if the checkout period ends beyond Tech Desk Operating Hours. Equipment checkouts will be due, by default, at 8:30am the following business day.

ADVANCED CAMERAS:

Canon 5D camera/lens packs

 

Students interested in using these cameras should undergo a 5D Camera training conducted by Adam Davies prior to camera use. Students should email Adam to schedule an appointment. 

 

Permissions should be limited to students completing their Thesis work with priority given to Stop Motion Related projects (It should be noted that students listed as both senior and junior levels are often listed within Thesis).

Please note: The 16" MacBook Pro is recommended for students planning to major in Film & Video, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, and Product Design. Additionally, as the MacBook Pros use the newer USB-C ports for I/O connectivity, the purchase of a USB to USB-C adapter is recommended.
